This limited-run maquette is a direct reproduction of the original approval sculpture built at The Burman Studio for Richard Donner’s 1985 classic.
Only 100 statues will ever be produced: 20 hand-painted collector pieces and 80 in an aged faux-bronze finish, each numbered, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Tom and Bari Burman.
Approx. 15 in (h) × 9 in (w) × 8 in (d) — sized for shelf, desk, or display case. Lightweight resin keeps shipping costs reasonable while retaining crisp detail.
How it was made
Original mold, new life: A fresh silicone pull was taken from the studio’s archived Sloth mold—the same mold that secured final approval for the character almost four decades ago.
High-resolution 3-D scan: The casting was laser-scanned to capture every pore, wrinkle, and asymmetry at full fidelity.
Digital refinement & wardrobe: Boots, pants, and shirt were digitally modeled onto the scan, giving the maquette a finished pose ready for display while preserving 100 percent of the original facial detail.
Precision 3-D printing: Each statue is printed in premium resin, lightweight for the bronze edition, translucent custom-tinted resin for the hand-painted edition.
Artisan finishing
Faux Bronze—multiple hand-applied washes, rub-backs, and waxes create a museum bronze patina.
Hand-Painted—layered color washes build lifelike skin tones; clothing is meticulously matched to screen wardrobe; UV-resin gloss and hand-laid mohair add final realism.
